JE DESIGN, a well-established tuner for over 30 years, specializes in Cupra models and is particularly well known for its spectacular WIDEBODY conversions. Now the tuner from Leingarten near Heilbronn has gone one better and presents the WIDEBODY RS conversion based on the current Cupra Leon Sportstourer with 228 kW and all-wheel drive.
The aim was to transform the Leon Cupra from a sports tourer into a super sports tourer - so aerodynamic efficiency was at the top of the list of requirements for the development team around Jochen Eckelt this time.
The center section of the three-part front spoiler can be adjusted longitudinally and, in the Race setting, generates more downforce on the front axle. Air intakes in the side panels provide improved airflow to the air ducts for brake ventilation on both axles. Aero winglets on the side create a kind of air curtain with their inlets and outlets. This effect ensures improved airflow around the vehicle.
Visually, the rear skirt insert, with diffuser fins, completes the aggressive design of the wide body. The insert fits for the 4-pipe exhaust system and for the plug-in hybrid models. Here, the standard exhaust dummy trims can be adopted. Sportiness does not exclude practical details at JE DESIGN. So this rear insert offers a very special highlight - JE DESIGN uses a new click diffuser system here for the first time. The center section can be unclipped without tools, allowing the trailer hitch to be swung down so it can still be used. Also practical - the popular load sill protector. This is available in black gloss or silver matt and also protects the front edge of the rear bumper.
Air outlet trims on the front fenders and air outlet frames on the rear bumper underscore the sporty outfit of the super sports tourer.
The rear wing is also aerodynamically shaped. The V-double wing profile with central air duct also generates downforce here, giving the Cupra greater stability, especially at high speeds.
In the side view, the JE DESIGN side skirt connects the wheel arch extensions including the aforementioned winglets. These provide more width and space in the wheel housings all around. So appropriate footwear is also installed on the JE DESIGN Cupra, which benefits the performance in fast cornering.
JE DESIGN offers here the own performance wheel in 10 x 19 or the BBS CH-R wheel in 9.5 x 19. In both cases, the rims are flow-formed and 255/30 R 19 tires are fitted. The performance wheel is supplied in "Racing Silver" as standard, but can be ordered in any RAL color (including matt) on customer request. In conjunction with lowering by 20 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear, performance is significantly enhanced. The standard electronic DCC suspension remains fully functional with the JE DESIGN lowering kit.
The custom flap exhaust system has long been a signature feature at JE DESIGN. The oval double tailpipes in the size 106 x 71 mm can be ordered either in black or, completely Cupra like, in Copper. Of course, the flap exhaust system has EC approval, is 100% legally compliant and is controlled via the standard Cupra button. JE DESIGN also offers the system for combination with a performance upgrade. In this case, instead of 228 KW / 310 PS and 400 Nm torque in the series, impressive 272 KW / 370 PS and 450 Nm torque are available in the Leon Sportstourer VZ 2.0 4Drive.
All other components have a parts certificate incl. Swiss certificates for a problem-free acceptance and are available immediately from JE DESIGN.
